Reference, blocking and first pass facial…
I found a great audio clip which I think has a lot of range to work within. Much like working within a pose, working within a sustained emotion that occasionally ‘cracks’ is something that I think will really help push me an an animator.
Reference wise, this is a tough one. I’ve taken a lot of the facial cues given from the original performance, but I’m also recorded myself performing the line and am merging the two together.
Blocking wise it’s pretty detailed, but I kept it in linear for most of the process prior to playblasting this and I think that’ll help me get into spline a lot more quickly/sanely.
