Well! I’m back and ready(ish!) for another Animation Mentor session.
My mentor Mike Belzer has worked with Pixar, Disney and prior to any of that, The Nightmare before Christmas! He’s a very approachable guy and I’m looking foward to learning a ton from him. He avoids sugarcoating his critiques and I think this is going to be a very busy few months.
Our first assignment is to create reference for a ‘gearchange’ from one emotion to another. Now, I have dialogue in my reference, but it’s just to help me ‘act’. Yikes, I wouldn’t normally put this in a public space, but here goes! It’s a matador gearchanging from Vanity -> Fright.
